100 femmes, dix quartiers


La Ville a beau être au féminin, ses rues sont généralement nommées après des hommes. Le collectif l’Escouade installera d’ici la fin août et dans dix quartiers thématiques des plaques en hommage à 100 femmes qui ont marqué l’histoire de la Cité.

Jérémie Pichon, un Pape à Genève


Frenchman Jérémie Pichon and his family live for the « Zero waste » philosophy. With his wife Bénédicte they wrote the best-selling book « Zero waste family ». On Saturday, December 8, the French pope of the Zero Waste philosophy will give a lecture in Geneva. He responded positively to the invitation of the Zero Waste Switzerland association.

Exposition Hodler au Musée Rath

World-famous Bernese painter Ferdinand Hodler died in Geneva a hundred years ago. The City Museums pay tribute to him. Until August 19th, 100 paintings are presented in the Musée Rath : self-portraits, landscapes and characters, which all attest the timelessness of Hodler’s work.

Cartoonist de presse turc récompensé


On May 3rd 2018, Turkish cartoonist Musa Kart won the 2018 International Press Cartoon Prize, awarded every two years by the the Swiss Foundation Cartooning for Peace and the City of Geneva. You can see a selection of his drawings as well as the work of 24 other press cartoonists until June 3rd 2018, on Quai Wilson, right bank.

Tennis champagne aux Eaux-Vives


The fourth edition of Banque Eric Sturdza Geneva Open will occur from 19 to 26 May 2018 at Tennis club de Genève Eaux-Vives. Swiss player Stan Wawrinka won the previous two editions, but his fans will miss him this year.

Calvin, ombres et lumière de la Cité


Key figure in Genève’s history, Pastor Jean Calvin came from France. He had such a vision of Christianism that he influenced the more than our city, which is nowadays presented as Protestant Rome. From the Reformation Wall, in Parc des Bastions, Plainpalais, Calvin is the second character, starting from the left.

Voix de fête, 20 ans de chanson francophone


From March 19th to March 25th, the Voix de fête festival will take Genevan people on a tour : on the roads of the francophone world. For seven days, about 50 performers and artists are expected to take stage. Meanwhile, in town, another event called Bars en fête.
